POLYPHEM at SolarPACES 2019

POLYPHEM participated in the 25th edition of SolarPACES, which took place in Daegu, South Korea from 1 to 4 October 2019.

SolarPACES is one of the most important international annual event in the field of concentrating solar power and chemical energy systems. It offers a wide forum for research, industry, politic, financing stakeholders as well as leading world experts from 40 countries.

POLYPHEM partner CIEMAT-PSA presented a paper at SolarPACE2019:

• Prediction of Thermocline Zone Development at the Beginning of Dynamic Processes in Single Storage Tanks with Liquid Media (Rocío Bayón and Esther Rojas).

The paper should be published officially by summer 2020 in AIP proceedings. In the meantime, you can consult the final version of the paper, as it was submitted, here and the abtract here.

Polyphem partner FRAUNHOFER-ISE also presented a paper:

• Design of an Experimental Prototype of a Solar-Driven CCGT Plant with Thermal Storage Based on an Existent Solar Power Tower Facility

The POLYPHEM team also shared a booth in the exhibition area with other CSP projects funded under Horizon 2020, which gave us the opportunity to further network and present the project to interested participants.

The next edition of SolarPACES will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico (USA) from September 29 to October 2 2020.
